Your Piece in the World

Create a Face for yourself so we can get to know each other: What is your name?

About you:
•    What is the name of your organization/community? How many people are there in your group?
•    Where are you located?
•    A brief message you would like to share with other Diaspora communities and the grassroots leaders in Jerusalem (you would be surprised how many people are interested to hear what you have to say).

What’s the project?
•   Share a short description (six sentences or less) of your group, and the latest projects you have been involved in.
•   Describe the outcome you want with this project.  What benefits will this outcome produce in the short and long term?
•   Which of the following categories best fit your project:  Social Justice Issue, Education, Environment, Public Awareness, Spiritual, Water, Media, Fundraising… all /some of the above?  If you are in your own category that’s fine, what is it?
•   Who are the people your project is aimed towards?   Local community, Larger Diaspora, Grassroots in Middle East, Students, Muslims, Jews, Christians, all of the above?
•   What are the planned projects for the next year?

What would you be interested in being directly involved with in Jerusalem?
•    How would you like to be involved? Fundraisers, Lectures, Activities, Visits, Professional Consulting, Campaign…
•   What might you have to offer? (Supplies, Presentation Venues, Finances, Salaries, Volunteers…) This will give the Grassroots community an idea of what they can ask for if and when they need it.

Please send this in “simple text”, add a couple of pictures to get an idea of the atmosphere, if there is a symbol or logo you use, send that too.  If there are any requests, questions, suggestions… please feel free to share them.

I am a 22 year old student and I work with Brit Tzedek v’Shalom, the Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have over 1,100 members and supporters in our local chapter of the national organization.

What I can offer to Grassroots Jerusalem is a base in the Bay Area, a place with a large progressive Jewish, Arab and Muslim community. Youthful energy, hopefulness and idealism along with the realistic cynicism that allows me to relate.
