OLIVE HARVEST COALITION: 2009

Greetings,

This is a call for volunteers to participate in the olive harvest.

As in the past years, this year we will be harvesting olives around Palestine with Israelis and international volunteers, with the help and assistance of the coalition organizations.

As a result of the poor weather and lack of access the harvest crop this year is low and it is important that all the olives are collected.

We are preparing ahead for the harvest to go by successfully and without many disturbances.  The settlers are surly preparing as well.  Project “Price Tag” has already begun.

As in every season, we expect challenges and trouble with the harvesting near points of contention around the settlements. We also expect challenges as resulting from policies around permits and mobility around the separation barrier.

Similar to previous years we will spread out around the West Bank.
